-
Keep resident green fees affordable for ordinary citizens,
seniors and juniors
-
Give local residents a fair shot at desirable tee off times
-
Save millions by renovating the current clubhouse and not
building a new one
-
Keep a county rate; our county neighbors are not tourists but are
important contributors to San Diego's year round economy
-
Stop the Century Club’s attempt to take City land for this
private club whose ultimate goal is to make Torrey Pines a private playground
for the wealthy and provide a windfall for owners of the Torrey Pines
Lodge and Torrey Pines Hilton
-
Put money into needed renovations at Balboa Park Golf courses
before spending millions on unneeded projects at Torrey Pines
-
Open up golf course finances to public review and require real
cost justifications for any fee increases. (According to the city's plan, the
golf course Torrey Pines Enterprise Fund has amassed over a 4 million dollar
surplus which will get even larger if the plan passes)
-
Require the City to post tee time sheets on the web so that users
and the public will be able to see where tee times are going
-
Reconstitute the Golf Advisory Committee so that it gives a full
voice to local golfers
-
Keep municipal golf a self-sustaining enterprise not a profit
center for either the city or private profiteers
