SDMGA: Councilmember requests that Independent Budget Analyst evaluate SDMGA Golf Plan
On June 14 District 6 Councilmember, Donna Frye, requested the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst to conduct an analysis of the SDMGA Golf Plan in response to Mayor Jerry Sanders Five-Year Golf Business Plan. We believe our proposal, a pay as you go plan, allows for comparable profits to be made while maintaining affordable resident rates and resident access to the courses. It is a plan that prevents raids on golf revenue keeping it in the Golf Enterprise Fund where it belongs. We believe the SDMGA Plan is a workable alternative to the City Plan. The Independent Budget analysis should validate our approach which will make it easier to adopt key aspects of our plan to modify the City Plan.
