SDMGA NOTICE TO ALL SAN DIEGO MUNICIPAL GOLFERS

Dear Fellow Municipal Golfers:

SDMGA just received the announcement below from Donna Frye's office asking golfers in San Diego to come to the Natural Resource and Cultural Committee (NR&C) meeting on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. to express our opinions on the state of golf operations since the implementation of the fee changes August 1, 2006.  The City has declined to provide any data about tee times or revenues since that time and the NR&C committee wants to hear from the golfers about how the changes have impacted them.  If possible, please plan to attend and give your opinion on the availability of tee times, fees, charging weekend rates on Fridays, course conditions, the new advanced reservation system and any other matters you are concerned about.  Here’s your chance to let the city know what’s going on at the City Golf Courses. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

The Natural Resources and Culture Committee meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be held in the City Administration Building located at 202 C Street on the 12th floor in the Committee Room.

If you can’t attend the meeting please send an email to Donna Frye’s office expressing your concerns, MKempczenski@sandiego.gov.  Thanks and see you there.

John Beaver, Joe Burwell, Paul Spiegelman, SDMGA members

Hi,

In the past you have contacted Councilmember Frye regarding the Mayor’s Five-Year Golf Business Plan that was passed on June 26, 2006.

On Wednesday, April 18, 2007, the Natural Resources and Culture Committee will be conducting an open discussion on the impacts of the Five-Year Golf Business Plan. The Committee would like to hear from you to see how effective this plan has been since it has been implemented.

The Natural Resources and Culture Committee meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be held in the City Administration Building located at 202 C Street on the 12th floor in the Committee Room.

If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Mary Ann Kempczenski
